I want to discuss the age old question of whether or not a Christian should be in business. For some reason many people think that business is tainted and thus a good Christian should not be in business because it will corrupt him or her. This may come form the men who had turned the Temple into a market place instead of the house of worship it was supposed to be. The problem is this way of thinking throws the baby out with the bath water so to speak. What these men were doing was blasphemous but that does not make all business bad. It is up to you to decide what you will do within the confines of your commercial endeavor. If you rip people off and take advantage of them then you are not following Christian beliefs. But if you offer good value and actually solve people's problems then you can rest assured there is nothing wrong with that.

I have been asked a lot about whether or not Christians can make a living on line without being untrue to their faith. I think they definitely can. The internet got a really bad rap when it was first in its infancy. And I think it was justified. It seems like almost every site was either a scammer or a pornography site. Thankfully that has changed now.
There are all kinds of legitimate businesses online now and more are starting or transfering to the web every day. The internet is becoming mainstream and I think it is a great place for Christians to do business. In fact I think the influence from believers could be very good for the web and those who use it.

The economy is in a shambles and most people don't think we will see the lifestyles we have enjoyed the last 10 years any time soon. How To Get Through Sorrow
Physical life is filled with sorrow. It has to be because everything physical eventually wastes away. Every living being will die a physical death including plants, animals, and humans. There is no other answer. The key to combating sorrow is to be focused on God and not on your physical surroundings.
God is the only everlasting thing. The only I AM. When you place you life in God's hands you are choosing eternal life over eternal nothingness. Your spirit can live on if you are attuned to God's love. If you spend time in contemplation instead of pursuit of more physical goods. The spiritual life is the only true life to live.

I am really excited about the internet. I think it is going to revolution how we can communitcate and do commerce all around the world. Yesterday I conversed with someone in Taiwan, New Zealand, and Seattle, Washington. It is great to meet people from all over world.
The internet will also be great for spreading the Word. With several billion people on line there are surely a few billion who are looking for Christ. I think the internet will be a fantastic way to share the Message with those who have not had the opportunity to hear it. It will be great as our brothers and sisters grow.

Welcome to my blog about being a Christian in this day and age. These are trying times but with God's help i know I can make it through. I have never wanted for comfort before and I don't believe I should start now. Thus I plan to go through life laughing and smiling no matter what is going on around me in the secular world.
Yesterday my niece graduated from Corban College in Salem Oregon. It is a very nice little Baptist Bible college. In fact it's name was Western Bible College until the name was changed 3 years ago. The name was changed in order to get more federal aid for the students.
The commencement speaker was Dick Whentnll of the auto dealership campaign. He talked about working toward what you want, being thankful for what you do have, and helping others to achieve their goals. It was a very nice speech.
